Biography:

Kafka Hibino is the protagonist of the manga series Kaiju No. 8. He first appears in chapter 1 of the manga, titled "Kaiju No. 8."

As a child, Kafka promised his childhood friend Mina Ashiro that they would both join the Defense Force and fight Kaiju together. However, Kafka repeatedly failed the Defense Force entrance exam, while Mina became a celebrated officer.

While working as a Kaiju corpse disposal worker, Kafka encounters a small Kaiju that merges with him, granting him the ability to transform into a powerful Kaiju. This transformation labels him as "Kaiju No. 8," the first Kaiju to be given a number designation while possessing human intelligence.
